Do you have diabetes, heart disease, asthma, arthritis, fibromyalgia, cancer or any other ongoing health condition?
Do you live with or care for someone who has an ongoing health condition?
The University of Missouri's Healthy for Life program is sponsoring FREE workshops that will teach you the skills you need to manage your symptoms and take control of your health. Better Choices Better Health meets once a week for six weeks. Topics include pain and fatigue management, exercise, healthy eating, treatment decisions, medication management, depression, communication and more.
This workshop will benefit you if you...
- have been diagnosed with a chronic health condition
- are living with someone who has been diagnosed with a chronic health condition
- are taking care of someone who has been diagnosed with a chronic health condition
Benefit eligible MU employees, retirees and family members are encouraged to attend and will be eligible for an incentive for participating in a health assessment. You will be asked to do a survey and health assessment at the beginning of the workshop, a survey at the end of the workshop and another survey and health assessment 6 months later. The initial screening will count towards the HFL wellness program if you haven't already completed one.
