The committee serves as the primary advisory team for the Central Missouri Regional Arthritis Center. Working with the goals of CEMRAC, the primary purpose of the committee is to advise and guide staff regarding programming and services provided in the 24 county service area.
CEMRAC is one of seven regional arthritis centers through the Missouri Arthritis and Osteoporosis Program. This state-wide network has been providing arthritis information and support in Missouri since 1985. Our mission is to reduce the burden of rheumatic disease by promoting optimal health and quality of life through prevention, early intervention, education, service and collaboration. This is accomplished by partnering with organizations and volunteers to provide arthritis and chronic disease self-management programs and physical acitivity classes.
The committee is looking for individuals who are committed to attend meetings, have an interest in improving lives of persons with arthritis and chronic diseases, and have an understanding of our community and it's needs. This is a volunteer committement that meets two hours, two times per year.
Your participation would be beneficial to the growth and success of the program. If you are interested in serving, please contact Amber Phelps at 573-882-8097 or phelpsam@missouri.edu.
